MT Hawthorn Cardinals Junior Football Club has donated its pre-loved footy gear to the Kicks 4 Kidz program in remote areas.

Cardinals player James Knapton, son of WAFL manager Cameron, was happy the club made the call to K4K director, ex-Subiaco premiership player Rod Willet. “I really liked the idea of passing on the football gear to kids in remote communities in the Pilbara and the Kimberley which is what K4K has been doing for a long time,” James said.

Willet said the program, which not only promotes football but a healthy lifestyle, had reached out to just about every community throughout the Kimberley and Pilbara. “I really enjoy engaging with the youth of today and giving them an insight on how other people live their lives and explaining to them that there is not a sports store just over the road or internet connection in every house up in the North West,” he said.

To donate, go to www.kicks4kidz.com.au or give Rod Willet a call on 0411550776. The Sunday Times is a Kicks 4 Kidz founding sponsor.
